It is important for everyone who is sexually active to know about sexually transmitted diseases. STD’s can be passed from one person to another through vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Kissing and sharing needles are also ways of getting an STD. The most common STD’s include chlamydia, herpes, HPV, gonorrhea, syphilis, hepatitis B, and HIV. Among these STD’s some are easily treated by medication, but others are not able to be treated at all.

The best way to protect yourself against STD’s is through education, safe sexual practices, and regular screenings.
