In Office Procedures: Breast ProblemsA woman’s breasts are continually changing depending on her phase of life. Most commonly changes occur during your menstrual cycle, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and menopause. It is important to perform self-exams regularly in order to become familiar with your body. This will be beneficial and allow you notice a change in your breasts if and when one arises. Beginning at the age of 20, women should examine their own breasts monthly and yearly mammograms are important after the age of 40. Pain, itching, burning, lumps, discomfort, change in size, and new lumps are often signs of a problem and should be evaluated by your physician. Download Patient Information |
