In Office Procedures:Menorrhagia

Menorrhagia is excessive or prolonged menstrual bleeding. Excessive in this case is defined as soaking one sanitary napkin in an hour; and prolonged is defined as having a period that lasts for more than 7 days. It is often so severe that it interrupts daily activities. Menorrhagia is most commonly diagnosed by an ultrasound, hysteroscopy, and D&C.

There are many treatments that include: oral contraceptives, endometrial ablation, hormone treatments, and hysterectomy.
