Surgical Procedures: Loop Electrical Excision Procedure (Leep)

A LEEP is a procedure that is used to treat cervical dysplasia. The procedure involves the use of electrically heated wire loops that are used to remove cervical lesions, and abnormal cells from the cervix. Abnormal cells are taken off in order for new cells to grow.

This procedure is performed in an outpatient setting.
