Laparoscopy is used in diagnosing many problems. In this procedure a small incision is made in the abdomen and a laparoscope is inserted to view the uterus, fibroids, ovarian cysts, and ectopic pregnancies.

This style of procedure usually has a shorter recovery period and is beneficial in confirming diagnoses.
